Smart speaker orders soar, MEMS microphone chip supplier supply gap over 30%
Dec 25, 2019
As intelligent voice assistants became popular chickens, MEMS microphones also rose. However, due to the fact that orders for MEMS chips are mostly shipped over 1 to 2 quarters, the market demand for global intelligent voice assistant products is almost adjusted upwards every month, and international manufacturers cannot effectively meet the urgent demand for sudden customer outbursts. The microphone chip market has seen more than 30% of the supply shortage.
The intelligent voice assistant has become a hot potato. Not only are the international giants Amazon, Google, Apple, and Alibaba launching their own intelligent voice assistant products, but Facebook, Tencent and Xiaomi will gradually join the battle. To boost the market demand for global intelligent voice assistance products, the industry estimates that the demand in 2017 will reach 15 million units, and in 2018 it will increase to 30 million to 40 million units.
As the demand for the terminal market is growing at a rapid pace, the consumer electronics supply chain in Shenzhen has begun to set off a new war on intelligent voice assistant products. According to statistics, Shenzhen Nanshan's smart speaker solutions have soared to more than 100 homes. In addition, in order to seize market share, foundries continue to squeeze profits, and even pay no more than one million yuan to make a loss.
